Lyrics to “Ordinary Day”

It was supposed to be an ordinary day
With wining and dining
And an evening at The Ballet.
Should have later been an ordinary night
Up in the club up in LA

She had planned to bake her husband the cake,
Give her dog a bath and read all the hate mail
She had planned to do all those things she
Thought that mattered

On an ordinary day
But that ordinary day became
Extraordinary day that did
Turn out to be her last day here

So on that Saturday
Someone who wasn't her friend
Told something she couldn’t tell
It wasn’t meant for her to hear about at all
From that moment on
Nothing mattered anymore

The secret travelled quickly on the streets
Turned her world from
A strong to a weak.
And all she wanted was to wake up for
All things that mattered

On an ordinary day
But that ordinary day became
Extraordinary day, now they say
"It was her last day here"

So she couldn't fake it anymore
She had just wanted to have family and all
The club's neon lights don't shine no more
But: there's rock in Rio
And dancing on the sand!

Ordinary day
Another tropical day
Just an ordinary day
She's done it her way

Ordinary day
Another tropical day
Just an ordinary day
She's done it her way

About

‘Ordinary Day’ tells the story of a movie star who drops everything to start a new life in Rio after discovering a secret about her husband.

Philosophically, the song is about the fact that despite your best efforts, you may not succeed in life.

The star placed all her faith in a relationship, did all the right things and was ready for more, but then her virtue was defeated. And now she asks herself: “Was it worth it?”.

She decided it wasn’t. Because you know what? There’s rock in Rio!
